Workers of Health Announces Assembly to Strengthen Mobilizations
The Workers of Health organization announced that it will hold an assembly on May 5th to organize and coordinate ways to strengthen current and future mobilizations for increased protection and wages for health workers.
Bolstering Protection
The Workers of Health coalition has organized several protests in the past months, calling for better protection in the workplace and increased wages for health workers. They are currently advocating for hazmat suits, facemasks, and other protective items to ensure all healthcare workers have the proper protection while they treat those affected by the pandemic.
Demanding Better Wages
The Workers of Health are also calling for health workers to be granted higher wages as they put their own health at risk while aiding those who have been affected by the pandemic. The organization plans to discuss tactics to pressure the government further in their pursuit of higher wages for the healthcare sector.
Coordinated Response
The assembly on May 5th will feature several healthcare workers who will discuss the current situation, options for how to move forward, and how best to strengthen their demands and mobilizations. Leaders of this organization hope that with a coordinated effort, they can effectively pressure the government and garner a response that is beneficial to healthcare workers.
Mobilization and Participation
In order to ensure a successful assembly, the Workers of Health are calling on all their members and supporters to attend and participate in the meeting. They also encourage & urge all healthcare workers within the country to mobilize and use this assembly to voice their grievances.
Only with a unified, organized response from health workers and supporters will the outcomes of this meeting be beneficial and successful. All healthcare workers are encouraged to take part and contribute to ensuring their rights are respected and their demands are met.
