The fight against Trafficking and Human Trafficking in the Department Council
The Department Council of Paraguay is undertaking an initiative whose objective is to prevent and eradicate Trafficking and Human Trafficking in the whole country. This action arises from the principle of protecting and promoting human rights in Paraguay and around the world, and is supported by the following groups: the National Council of Human Trafficking, the National Council of Human Rights and the Public Defender.
Mission
The Department Council aims to protect and provide rights to the victims, defend and expand the notion of human rights in the country, and promote an understanding of the seriousness of Trafficking and Human Trafficking. All of this will be achieved with the implementation of preventive and an integral protective action that will prioritize the victims who, in many cases, are underrepresented and invisible.
Objectives
The mission of the Department Council has the following objectives:
- Protection: To protect and provide rights to vulnerable populations, especially women, children and indigenous peoples.
- Prevention: To prevent and reduce Trafficking and Human Trafficking through awareness campaigns and public education.
- Development: To promote the sustainable and integral development of victims of Trafficking and Human Trafficking.
- Integral Protection System: To design and implement a comprehensive protection system with specialized institutions and personnel.
All of the effort undertaken by the Department Council has the intention of creating an environment that is free of Trafficking and Human Trafficking, ensuring whole human rights, better protection and an integral approach in Paraguay. The goal is to create a safe and prosperous country for everyone.
