“Perdonazo” financial pardons, proposed by Bolivians to Luis Arce
The economic crisis Bolivia is facing due to the pandemic has caused little activity and rises in unemployment. In this difficult context, Bolivians have many problems to face and, for this reason, the citizens asks to Luis Arce and his government, that they should qualify for some financial pardons for the payment of taxes.
Why pardons?
- Many citizens do not have the means to pay the amounts they owe.
- Although there have been some tax-related suspensions, they are not enough to help those currently unemployed.
- Many people seek to be able to access the credits and assistance promised by the government.
- Give time to reactivate the economy and increase employment.
Luis Arce’s reply
The response of Luis Arce and his government has been slow and limited. The Information Minister of Bolivia, Yerko Núñez, confirmed that the government has thought of possible solutions and that the majority of them are related to granting «payment facilities, that is, interest subsidies, and even very small deferments for cases of great necessity».
The people are hoping for an answer
The people are waiting for the government to give definitive steps, that are able to really help those who need it. So the Head of State and his ministers have been called upon to make a “perdonazo”, which consists of a tax forgiveness so that the people can have money to support their families in these trying time of crisis.
Let’s hope Luis Arce will listen to his people and won’t ignore their pleads.
